ivyette:

Knockoffs time!! Today we have the Ghastly Girlfriends: “In this ghastly worn-out town, with only a burnt cathedral and a few empty houses, there are three angels.
They save people from the zombies; they are pretty with sweet hearts; they wear glimmering dresses.
Yet, they only live in the dark…”

Sorry for the taken-at-night quality. I keep forgetting to take these and if I didn’t do it now I’d never have gotten it done :P
They have adorable faces and surprisingly even, un-blemished makeup. Their head molds differ slightly - Clawdeen has a wider nose and, though you can’t see it in the picture, regular Clawdeen-style ears that are actually pretty thick and decent quality. Draculaura has pointy ears and a tiny nose. Frankie and Draculaura have holes in their earlobes. They don’t come with earrings, but regular MH earrings fit in perfectly.

Their outfits are… pretty terrible quality. Draculaura’s is white and red and way, way huge on her, and made of… idk, plastic? It’s weird. The belt is sewn onto the front and isn’t a real belt :( Clawdeen’s shirt doesn’t have a hem on the sleeves or… really anywhere else, and is made of a stretchy material. Her skirt is nice though. Frankie’s dress doesn’t fit quite right on her chest area. If you only buy knockoffs for the clothes-harvesting potential, forget it… except for Clawdeen’s fake-leather skirt, which is actually pretty cute. Actually, I like the idea behind all 3 outfits. I think real-Clawdeen would wear that rainbow-black mesh- gold sequin-leather skirt combo. Ghoulia or Operetta would rock an actually well-made version of Draculaura’s. I have no idea who would wear Frankie’s (those are little flecks of gold glitter in the skirt part). I would, but I don’t think any of the MH girls would :P I haven’t tried, but I think they would fit on MH bodies.

All 3 girls have the same pair of pink shoes even though Frankie’s outfit is the only one they remotely match. They’re super cute and really detailed, but unfortunately way too tiny for real MH dolls :(

Their bodies are pretty good for dollar store dolls. Their knees only bend once, and their legs are covered in white hard dots. Not sure why. Their heads don’t come off easily (unlike Midnight Magic dolls). I didn’t pull one off so I’m not sure how easy head-switching would be, but I think they’re attached the way Barbie and Monster High heads are.

Their hair is thick… well, what little of it they have. All 3 girls have huge bald spots in the back. The hair Clawdeen does have is adorably curly. That’s not my camera playing tricks on Draculaura’s hair - it actually is a coppery orange, not pink. Very Halloween, but not very Draculaura. Frankie and Draculaura both have their secondary hair colors coming from only one spot, on their side-parts - the style is like Scary Tales Draculaura’s. It’s not easy to style, it’s kind of wiry. You could get them if you wanted to practice putting new holes in a doll head to re-root them.

Frankie’s eyes are blue and brown - both of them. Instead of one of each, they just put both colors in both eyes. I think it’s pretty cool. She has light blue eyeshadow and pretty berry lips. Clawdeen has brown eyeshadow, brown eyes, and a lovely coral for her lips. Her fangs are slightly uneven. Draculaura has pink eyeshadow, gray eyes, and I think the same color lips as Frankie. Frankie only has that one stitch mark on her face, nowhere else.

Each doll comes with that same red mirror. It has a bow shape on top on the front, but on the back it’s a hand. And you can’t really see anything in the mirror so I’m not sure why they bothered, they should have put a brush instead.

Clawdeen’s face is different enough from real Clawdeen that you could pass her off as another wolf sister -  I’ve been calling mine Pawline :)

3 dollars (US) each, at Dollar General. I went there looking for that other knockoff Draculaura, and while I found her, I liked these better - the other one’s head is HUGE. All in all, these are worth the 3 bucks each, but only if you have a soft spot for derpy knockoffs or if you really, really want another wolf sister. Or if you have kids or younger siblings who want to play with your good dolls… give them these instead. I think they’d hold up to regular playtime.

Omg these are rediculous and I’m jealous T_T

I fear we will never get knock offs here, eber
