While I was unboxing, my son kept putting his Angry Bird toys on the furniture, making them say, “I love you, Clawdeen!” and “Marry me, Clawdeen!” Finally I said, “Maybe Clawdeen likes girls.” Son thought about this for a second, then brought his white bird back over, proposing, “Marry me, Clawdeen! I’m a girl bird- I lay eggs!”
(He also said the clawed pastry looked like chocolate covered penises, but I didn’t encourage that).
Anyway. When “Santa” brings my I ♥ Fashion Abbey, she can join the no-stand party.

Petition: Mattel, stop using glue in the manufacturing of dolls!
I’ve finally decided it’s time to look into gathering some signatures and letting Mattel know that people are unhappy about the glue issue, and not only are they unhappy but they’re not alone. If you’ve had your dolls ruined by glue, become sticky, or even lose their hair in clumps from this problem - sign! Let others know they’re not alone and let Mattel know their customers are unhappy with these shoddy manufacturing practices!
I never cared really, until I tried to wash my Clawdeens hair to perm it last night. HOLY SHIT- it was so sticky I couldn’t get it off with dish soap, it stuck to my hands, the straws, the twisty ties. And it smells awful! I have a Drac, Frankie and now Clawdeen that I will probably leave on the shelf cause they are getting stinky :(

While I was out taking pics of Rochelle and Clawdeen I used the same set-up shooting my newest repaint, Snow White. I had wanted to make a doll with eyes shut for a while already and Cupid just seemed like the perfect doll for it. I lowered her super high cheekbones a bit by sanding to give her a softer look. She has been rerooted with human grade Kanekalon, hence the gigantic mane. I just wanted her to have A LOT of hair :)
She is wearing the dress of my Angels of Music Harpist angel barbie. Which is obviously way too big for her but I just tied it down from the waist with the gold sash.
Oh and I gave her Spectra’s see through arms and hands to symbolize her glass casket.

Fixing Monster High Legs-- Knees/Lower Legs.
Ohhhh ‘kay. So while I was shirking everything and redressing my Monster High Draculaura, I came across quite the… situation. Shoes are a bitch to get off. Seriously, how these were designed for children is insane omg.
ANYWAYS I did some googling and research and came up bone dry for how to fix this issue, so I thought I’d do my own, short and easy how-to.
Here is the issue this post will be telling you how to fix:
This is for fixing the lower leg piece, where it snaps off at the knee, notrestringing the upper leg.

Sometimes when I’m calling somewhere to ask about dolls two or more days in a row, especially when it’s a smaller store like Justice which has fewer employees, I’ll change my voice on the phone because I’m afraid they’ll recognize it and think “oh my god lay off you obsessive twat”
even though I know they probably hear so many voices throughout the day that there’s a low chance they’d remember mine, but I get so paranoid. orz
Things I’ve found that have helped:
1. Be nice. Always be nice to customer service people. They’re only trying to do their jobs. (Not implying that you aren’t, darlink, just overall I’ve gotten more dolls with honey than vinegar!)
2. Act like you have NO IDEA what Monster High is, or what you’re looking for. They will start throwing out names of what they’ve seen there, giving you a better idea of the selection.
3. If you call, say things like “I hate to bug…” and “sorry, I know you must be crazy busy…” For some reason they are nicer when I’ve done that. Also, acting like you’re buying something for a kid. They don’t care, they’re just trying to make a sale, but for some reason they’re a little more helpful when “its my daughters birthday” or “my girls just LOVE these things!”
Granted, I actually have a kid, but the TRU employees got to know me and would say “Does your daughter have _____ yet?” and “We saved this one, in case she doesn’t have it!” They were sweethearts.
I only say this cause when I’ve called repeatedly for a new release or about Spectra (when she was hard to find), they were pretty snotty when I called repeatedly or was like, “Um NO, NOT Frankie, its SPECTRA, she has PURPLE HAIR, ugh”. They don’t always know what the hell we’re talking about. Be patient, it’ll work wonders. :)

I hated the dragon at first, but I wanted the werewolf. So I bought the set. Once I found the perfect wig and outfit, I now love the dragon and how pink she is. She’s wearing the Skull Shores Lagoona outfit, and the scale print on the wrap is perfect for her. Her name shall be Bubblegum.
I love this wig on her. Unfh. She looks great!

There is so much glue that is probably stuck this way forever!!! I didn’t use straws, tried to make a tighter curl. I kinda wanted to do more like the look on the sport pack.
