I’ve done my part … have you? Or are you just going to keep complaining about it on tumblr?
Below is a copy of my letter to Mattel about Scarah’s release.
“Hello Mattel. I am sending this message in hopes that my voice will be added to others contacting you with disappointment on the recent handling of the Monster High Scarah Screams release.
To use a character voted by fans during the 2011 SDCC event as an exclusive was very upsetting. Fans were able to vote through outlets other than at ComicCon making it seem the doll would see release beyond ComicCon.
I understand the need for SDCC exclusives to maintain excitement and attention for your product. But to create a product that just benefits the secondary market seems like a poor strategy. Imagine if the production had been doubled or tripled. I’m sure there still would have been no problem selling out and all the profit would go to Mattel, not creating as much opportunity for 75% markup profit for secondary market sells.
Again, this is just an attempt to add my voice to the request of other Monster High collectors that would like to see Mattel do the right thing. I hope this doll may soon see a standard released so everyone can enjoy her as part of their collection. I am pleased with Mattel’s recent rerelease of many older hard to find dolls and hope we see more of this soon.
Thank you for your time. “
Good on ya!! Everyone?
