OKAY ALL MY FRIENDS, here’s the thing…
I’ve known artist and writer Jill Thompson for a long time. We’re talking 20+ years long. And she’s nifty and peachy-keen. She’s an award-winning illustrator in comics (The Sandman, Wonder Woman, Beasts of Burden, etc.) and she has two series of fantabulous books for kids: Scary Godmother, and Magic Trixie.
Back when I first started kit-bashing fashion dolls, Jill came over and was looking at alllllll the customised fashion dolls in my digs, and we were talking, and I showed her all the types of articulated bodies and different hair (saran, nylon, kanekelon, mohair, etc.) and we were doll-geeking. And it got the wheels in her head turning. And Jill decided it was high time to have a Scary Godmother fashion doll.
LOTS OF STUFF had to happen, to even get this far. LOTS. Like getting a prototype made, and getting quotes from factories, and LOTS. But omg it’s been the coolest project EVER.
And now she has launched her Scary Godmother Doll Kickstarter, to crowdsource the funds to get Scary Godmother dolls produced.
If you are a fan of her work on Sandman, or collect fun creepy-fabulous dolls like Monster High, Bratzillas or Bleeding Edge goth dolls, YOU GUYS OMG. YOU’RE GONNA LOVE HER.
So please please please BOOST THIS SIGNAL!
YES! CAN WE PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!>!>!
