“Clawdeen is a hot pot of rice who don’t need no side dish… But shes not made of stone
(No offense Rochelle)
When Frankie comes back from Skull Shores, yes there is a lot of attention drawn to her and the Catch of the day, Andy (both positive and negative) BUT there is also Mr. Out-of-sight-Out-of-mind-temporarily, Jackson. So, I can see her flying back into his bow-tied embrace almost immediately after the whole Skull Shores debacle dies down.
So, you have Andy, lonely, bereft and dressed like Tom Hanks when he left the Island in Castaway (is that too old a reference to be relevant?) dressed like an extra from Pirates of the Caribbean. One without a speaking part. Possibly a computer generated one for a fight scene… anyway, Clawdeen, seeing him all alone and poorly clad, decides to take it upon herself to cheer him up.
She whips out her credit cards and car keys and faster than you can “he’ll be wearing that out”, she has him decked out in the finest Couture that Salem has to offer (for want of a better town name, I’m using the one offered in the book). She pulls a “My Fair Lady” on him, and teaches him about things like searing your meat for optimum flavor, and the right kind of shoes to wear when you have toe-claws. She takes him to movies and concerts to bring him up to date on the latest in pop culture and to the spa from some man-scaping.
Soon, he is the talk of the school. Even Cleo is giving him a once over here and there. Girls are flocking to him like Vampires to virgin blood… And Clawdeen realizes as he starts spending more time with them and less with her, that she was starting to appreciate his sensitivity, his honesty, and most of all, the fact that he was a man beast that had become worthy of her attention.
She is confronted with her own sense of materialism and shallow-ness (after all, she had zero interest in him when he was wearing a lace up Henley like some Ren Faire reject and had hair like a 90s grunge kid…), and realizes that he was pretty cool people all along.
She realizes she was falling in love with him….”
