So my trip to the Toy District …
Yeah. First of all the one street that borders the “Toy” District - should be renamed the bong and hooka district. Then it was nothing but stuffed animals and party favors/pinata stuffing for a block and a half.
As I got deeper into the bowels of Boyd St, I found dozens of Deandra’s (MPGIS) but not a single Muñeca monstruo… when I asked or showed pictures, folks looked at me like I was nuts.
Found a few lunch boxes and messenger bags, but apparently the good wholesalers of Downtown LA are not aware of the current interest in fashionable and fabulous monster spawn.
Finally I found this Draculaura… something and asked of they had the dolls. “Oh, Monster High? ” she asked, and led me to the single beat up, duct taped box of DT2 Clawdeen that she was selling for the not-very-wholesale price of $15.
By this time, it was hot and my Japanese candy sugar rush had worn off and the same panhandler had asked me for change for the third time so I beat it out of there. I am very disappoint cause now I have to order those fake fuckers directly from Ali baba.
All these fake Barbies, Bratz and I don’t know what that Calleigh thing is but she’s hideous and not a single fake Monster.
Dammit.
I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a Deandra today.
Or the next time you are ever in that shopping district. we don’t have the MPGIS knock off dolls in New York *cry*
